An icon of Cuba in marquetry
Inspired by the old presidential palace of Havana, now the Museum of the Revolution, the “Palacio de la Revolución” humidor joins the iconic Casa Cubana universe through an architectural composition rich in details and symbols. Made from natural and tinted sycamore, green redgum, and mother-of-pearl, this creation unfolds an unprecedented palette of mauves, purples, and blues, directly inspired by Cuban facades and their contrasting lights.
The marquetry, composed of over 700 pieces, testifies to Elie Bleu's mastery in artistic cabinetmaking, tabletterie, and fine marquetry. Columns, wrought ironwork, domes, and architectural openings are meticulously transcribed in wood, precisely highlighted with gilded or silver metallic transfers.
