Everything Is Connected – A Free Interpretation of Cuba
With “Everything Is Connected”, Kota presents his own vision of Cuba in a composition created without any preliminary sketch. The artist let the colors guide his work, gradually adding elements as he created: old buildings, palm trees, an American car, and small figures slowly come together to form a vibrant urban scene.
The artwork stands out for its chromatic contrasts, between the incandescent orange of the city and the turquoise and bluish tones of the other side. Paint, drawings, inscriptions, and graphic details are freely layered on the wood. The words “Everything Is Connected”appear within this composition, like a link between the different elements that traverse it.
Without a predefined composition, Kota builds a world here where each detail gradually finds its place. A personal interpretation of Cuba that also echoes the universe of the collection Casa Cubana by Elie Bleu.
